Compare the Meerkat is an advertising campaign created by Darren Walsh for British price comparison website comparethemarket.com. Since its debut in January 2009, it has become the most successful and longest running price comparison advertising campaign in Britain, even resulting in merchandise including a book and plush toys.

Similar to the early appearances of the GEICO Gecko, the campaign centers on an aristocratic Russian meerkat named Alexsandr Orlov, who lives a hectic life having to put up with people constantly confusing comparethemarket.com for his website, comparethemeerkat.com.

Fat Sergei

Alexsandr must get Sergei into fitness when he has grown too fat to resemble his plush toy.
